I guess I'm not really good at blogs

I've been trying to add images to this blog for weeks now and its just not happening. I've added the ones you've seen before with relatively no problems, but I'm not able to do it anymore. I may be giving up the blog thing if I can't load pictures. I have even tried to delete posts and have not been able to.
My camera is working for now, my computer fan has quit, I think my hard drive might be going, my cd player in my computer no longer works and has not been working for months. I probably give it one more try in a week.

Well, my computer was on the fritz last week, my fan quit on me. I couldn't load pictures before that. Now, my camera will no longer open, the lens. I have over 200 some blogs that come into my reader on Google (mostly crafty blogs). As, I go through them they will give you a chance to win something. I won Lesley Riley's book, I received it. A few days later after winning Lesley's book, I won a heart from http://artwerx.us/blog/ Musings of my Mind. What it is , is Love it Forward. So, I will be sending out a heart craft, first I'll take a picture of it and giving you a chance to win it. Tracy is the nice person that randomly picked my number. Review of Lesley Riley's book

"Fabulous Fabric Art with Lutradur"

You can really tell Lesley has experimented a lot on the Lutradur, with all the different kinds of medium. She's pretty much done all the work for you! I was really excited to learn I can use foiling on the Lutradur, and that I'd be able to transfer onto it.

The book is filled with pictures of some of Lesley's incredible art projects, even the contents page is gorgeous! Beginners through advanced crafters should have no trouble doing the projects in this book. Lesley has provided easy, step-by-step instructions for all of them. In addition, she has sprinkled a lot of fun tips and hints throughout the book. My favorite project in the book (probably because it reminds me of a min-zine I made) is Lesley's, "Memories of Italy." I like it so much I'm planning to make one similar to it. Another of Lesley's projects in the book called "Aviary", and that one is my second favorite, although I also love her "Baby Blocks!"

All of the projects in this book are great, so it was a real challenge deciding which are my favorites. I've been so inspired by them that I can't wait to get more Lutradur and get crafting! Thank you, Lesley, for a truly wonderful book!

Hello!

I'm back from vacation, and I'm raring to go!

Everyday art. I made art yesterday and will be doing it again today. Yesterday January 1st I made bookmarks for friends, I made a fabric bag (which I will show you how to do in a future tutorial). I printed out and cut a calendar for H.A. I wrote a letter to my friends.

It's going to be a creative year!

While I was making fairy jars my friend Dr. Sai came up with these chinese gingseng bottles, and I went "whoa, can I have those empty bottles?"
So here is the beginning of bottle necklaces. Here is my first attempt.

Fairy jar contents

1. Cotton for a heavenly or snowy effect.
2. Feathers for wings on your fairy, for hanging off of the top of the jar, or just lie them inside your fairy jar.
3. Butterflies for outside or inside your fairy jar or for wings of the fairy.
4. Charms for the outside, inside, or even around your fairies neck. Maybe a key charm so they can unlock the jar and get out. You could also glue or hang a little lock on the outside of the jar.
5. Things to put on your fairies head could be a crown, dunce cap, witch hat, artificial flowers or flower, glue a pearl on its head, glue a rhinestone, or make a party hat.
Artificial flower leaves can also be used as wings on your fairy.
6. You can glue artificial flowers inside and outside of the jar.
7. You can hang tags on the outside of the jar.
8. You can hang crystals on the outside of the jar, possibly inside too, if you are extremely crafty.
9. Sequins, glitter, and seashells inside and outside of the jar.
10. If you want to have a backing behind your fairy you can use tissue paper, make your own backing of words like boo for a Halloween theme, star covered paper, music paper, a copy of an old photo with a house on it possibly, and so on. You can purchase your background paper, or make your own background paper. Childrens elementary writting paper with a childs handwritting on it. I will make a tutorial on how to make background paper in a future tutorial.
11. You can wind wire, string, yarn, fibers around the top of the jar with beads, charms, and little trinkets on it.
12. Throw a some beads inside the jar alone, or rhinestones, pretty small colorful rocks, sand.
13. You can make wings out of acetate, leave them plain, or color them.
14. You can put old vintage pictures as fairies. Picture of the child you might give the fairy jar to.
15. You can put any color netting as background, bottom, or on the outside of the jar.
16. You can put ballerinas, little fairy nick nacks in the jar.
17. You can make it like a diorama and make it like a complete scene inside your jar.
18. On the bottom of the jar you can pour those fake snow flakes in, put saw in the jar, Easter straw, glitter, shredded colorful paper, nesting materials.
19. You can glue tulle for an embellishment on the fairy where its clothing is.
20. You can make a theme or holiday fairy jar. Christmas theme could be fairy with tiny presents, little trees, fake snow inside, little Christmas embellishments like small plastic candy canes.
21. You can glue plastic snow flakes to the inside or the outside of the jar.
22. Glue stars all over the jar, inside and out.
23. Old jewelry parts is also another idea for inside or out of the jar.
24. You can print out miniture of thing on some card stock and put them in the jar, especially if you are short of cash for embellishments.
25. Little plastic eggs would look good for an Easter themed jar, or for just a regular themed jars, as fairies are pretty small creatures.
26. You can be as plain in your decorating the top as just putting burlap and a string around the top of the jar to keep the fairy in. You don't really need to leave the lid on your fairy jar, you can just use some pretty tulle and a ribbon.
27. You can put tiny pictures of paper birds inside and outside your jar.
28. When I said you could do themes, I meant you really can do any kind of theme, Edgar Allen Poe theme, Humpty Dumpty theme, Hawaiian theme. Not really fairy, but you get the idea.
29. You can put the little star garland around the top, or inside the jar for a decorative touch.
30. Paint your fairy with clear drying glue and throw some glitter on to make it glitzy.
31.Other ideas might be putting satin material on the bottom for a base. Gluing pompom to lollipop sticks for trees. Gluing gold paper braid around the outside of the jar.
32.Fill your jar with all kinds of embellishments, recyclables. You print out words that can glue to the outside of the jar, or put inside the jar. Things like love, laughter, and others that are appropriate for the jar theme.
33. You can use any jar you have around the house, or go to the store and purchase special containers. My favorite thing is to go to the thrift store and get the jars. They have beautiful containers for a good price, plus I'm helping people, and I'm helping to recycle.

Peel off the freezer paper. Oh yes, make sure that you draw your image on the flat side not the shiny side. Also, iron the shiny side down.
Add details, either with another stencil or draw them by hand. Wings, feet, and beak is what I have left for this bird.

Making your own background papers

Well, here's a lit of background papers you can make your self.
Paste paper, blowpen paper, stencil paper, finger paint, corrugated carboard background, marbelize, bubble paper, tie dye, ink drops, spray paint, stamping the paper with stamps that are from angel company, paint, and sponge backgrounds. I'm sure there is plenty more, but these ones are just off the top of my head.

Well, I feel a little guilty about not putting up any photo's yet. I am just so busy. That being said hopefully I will be getting some photos up pretty soon. This blog is not just to inform people of what I am doing, or to show you all the art I do, it is also for me to catalog things for my self. A good example of this is that I want to make background papers, so I figured out how I could do some. Now I'll write them out here, and viola, when I need to I can just look it up on here. Why would I want to make my own background papers when there is so much bee you tea ful paper out there, because that paper has a copywrite on it, and I don't even want to go there.

I got a SpinArt the other day. Very cool, but, it does not have a bunch of colors with it, so...... I'm gonna get some Wilton cake decorater bottles and put some pretty acrylic paints in them and use them too. I was thinking (if you have a Spinart you will understand) that the small papers you really can't do any thing with, so..... I will make some Christmas ornaments out of them, and also make some colored paper out of them.

Yes, I love art. One thing I started to do was make necklaces. I got some beading stuff from the store. I once was looking at other peeps jewelry, this one lady made jewelry out of washers, she was selling them for outrages prices. The artist now days really push the envy, they make charms out of those small clear light bulbs, with thread wrapped around them. I think I want to try some more necklaces with some home made charms on them.

By the way, if you have not figured this out by now, I am not a writer; I have not mastered the English language yet, and I doubt if I ever will. A woman named Patti Digh has written a book called “Life is a Verb”, she’s asked people to write about what they would do if they only had 37 days to live.

This is what I wrote:

Life has been like Christmas Day, every day for me. Life is beautiful, life is sweet. I’m not rich by any means; it just has been like Christmas for me for a while now. I think it has been like Christmas since I let go of anger. I really had no real definition of why it was like Christmas for me every day until now. Life races by quickly as it is already, 37 days is a really short time.

Even though I have problems just like every one else, I still feel it’s like Christmas.

I have goals to look forward to. Life, and every day problems still happen, but it still feels like Christmas to me.

I would make sure that every one that I came in contact with, and my family and friends knew that I cared and love them a lot, I would show them how much I love them.

I would give out all the money I have, I don’t think I could take it where I am going

I would make time for my art in these short 37 days; I may even stay up late into the night to make time for my art.

I wouldn’t waste any time thinking about my past, or my mistakes, I would definitely stay on the present moments of life.

I would be so impeccably positive.

I think I would be more aware of things and people in those last precious moments. I would probably notice things a lot more knowing that it would be just a short time before it would all be gone.

I would volunteer more, go out and see what people needed, and try to help them get it before I go.

So little time to do all this

Instead of just existing, I would live. Take singing lessons, dancing lessons, art classes.

I would laugh a lot.

Life is the best thing ever. Life is not a dress rehearsal.

I guess I better get started on this list, before time runs out.

I am the only person that can control the destiny of my life.

Thinking about the end of my life is not sad for me, I’m looking forward to my next adventure, I’m thinking it may as wonderful as this adventure if not even more wonderful and more beautiful than this adventure.
